Ready, break!

Update 12/31: We’ve started posting photos at http://markmillard.smugmug.com/. It’s password protected, so contact us if you need the password.

I’m taking an extended break from blogging. I enjoy it, but am just too busy. Which is a bit of a shame, since that’s probably when I have the most interesting things to blog about.

In the meantime, you can always:
- Email me at markmillard(at)gmail.com
- Keep up with my bookmarks at del.icio.us/markmillard
- Look for our photos online at a smugmug.com account I will create soon

By the way, SmugMug looks like an excellent photo-sharing service. I’m looking forward to using it.

Thomas Dolby in Concert

Scott, Steve, Somara, Giles, Josh, and I saw Thomas Dolby in concert last night at a wonderfully small venue. We had a good time, and Dolby did not disappoint (except when his equipment broke for “Leipzig” and he had to move to the next song). His performance of “The Flat Earth” was heavenly.

Steve also blogged about the show.

Last time Scott and I saw Thomas Dolby was at the Austin Opry House, back in 1984(!).

Do Salvation Army bell-ringers keep a portion of the monies deposited into their kettles?

No they do not.

Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride (2005)

Absolutely wonderful movie. Read the Salon review.

Meet our new friend, Cheyenne

On our way home from church the other day, we met a longhorn bull named Cheyenne:

As you can tell, he’s an old pro at this.
