What a fun day!

We had a huge day today!

First, we participated in the Austin March of Dimes Walk. It was our first time, and we had a lot of fun being in such a large crowd of surviving preemies and their families. The walk took us from Auditorium Shores up Congress Avenue (which was all ours to walk on, since it was closed to vehicles) to the Capitol, and back.

George enjoyed the people-watching before the walk, napped during the walk, then awoke just in time to say “Hi” to Dr. Landers (the neonatologist at his birth). We visited the Seton tent, where George charmed everyone with his mad walking skillz and impressive stroller pushing.

Next the three of us went to Green Mesquite BBQ, my favorite. It was George’s first visit postpartum. He gave it his squeal of approval:

Then we pushed it a little and took George to Zilker Botanical Gardens. We figured since he had a nap during the walk, he’d be up for it. Wrong. Nevertheless, he tried. At least we got a couple of cute photos:

Overall it was a fantastic day, made even better by the news that baby Evan got to come home from the hospital today. Yippee!

My Momma (who is a huge George Elliott fan) said George is the most adorable and photogenic baby ever! I agree. Then I realized that he gets that from you, Mark. Tony is also really photogenic. Allison the Elder and I are not….I have that whole “lazy eye” and well, Allison…you know. Anyway he is blessed, the camera loves him. (And hey, he doesn’t disappoint in person either!)
