All these years I’ve poo poo’d Michael Crichton’s hackery about technology’s evil side only to have this prove me wrong and bite me in the butt. It’s not cloned dinosaurs, time travel or eco-terrorists we have to fear (even though he’s dead wrong on the science of all three), it’s Star Trek nerds with DV cameras and access to Final Cut Pro!
I’ve seen the New Voyages. They’re AWFUL! If that’s the one getting an assist from former cast members along with DC Fontana, I think the other fan shows would make me race to my TV and embrase the mediocrity of the SciFi Channel.
